As Song Writer

V. Manohar made an entry into the Films as a Songwriter for Kashinath’s film ‘Anubhava’ in the year 1984. Since then V. Manohar has written lyrics for over 300 movies.

As Music Director

V. Manohar spent several years under the tutelege of Hamsalekha - the leading Music Director of Kannada Film Industry, honing his skills with the nuances of music. V. Manohar considers Hamsalekha as his guru & owes all the success and fame that he has earned in this field. Popular Star Upendra gave him his first break as a Music Director in 1992 for the film “TharaleNannaMaga”. The film was a commercial success and paved way for V. Manohar to emerge as a leading Music Director in the industry. Since then he scored music for over 100 films and is considered as one among the most popular music directors.

As Director

Before starting his career as an independent Director, V. Manohar worked for some of the eminent directors of Kannada Film Industry, such as, Kashinath, PhaniRamachandra, SundaranathSuvarna, Upendra etc., and gained valuable insight into film making.V. Manohar established himself as a director of substance in the first instance itself with “O MALLIGE”. This movie was a clean family entertainer, celebrated its 100 days run in many centers across Karnataka to its credit. “O MALLIGE” also exposed the abundant creative talent hidden in V. Manohar as a film writer / director, and a music composer. So far V. Manohar has directed two kannada films - O MALLIGE & INDRADHANUSH.

Awards

V.Manohar has won the Karnataka State Award as the Best Lyric Writer for the film “GEJJENAADA” and as the Best Music Director for the film JANUMADA JODI. He has won innumerable other awards including the State Award, Knockout, Udaya TV, Screen Videocon, Film Fare etc..
